Absolute Signals in ABS territory...
The east end of Spearville siding. This is a good example of the old ATSF flat-pair signal system, in that the eastbound signals on both the main track and siding are absolute (no number plate) signals. This was once part of an old CTC installation between Kinsley and Wright that was removed about thirty-five years ago. When an eastbound train is stopped at a red signal here, they must get permission from the dispatcher to pass the stop indication. As soon as the movement passes either of the signals (main track or siding), all westbound signals between here and the next head block at west Offerle drop to red. Note that the westbound signal here has a number plate.
